Kin and fictive caregivers step into critical roles in a child’s life, often navigating complex family dynamics, unclear expectations, and evolving relationships. While the heart of caregiving may be similar, the context is often very different. 

This interactive webinar explores the unique experiences of kin and fictive caregivers, offering practical, trauma-informed tools from Together Facing the Challenge: Family Edition (TFTC-FE) to strengthenrelationships, navigate co-parenting dynamics, and build supportive, sustainable caregiving environments. 

Grounded in both practice and lived experience, this session creates space for reflection, skill-building, and shared learning. 

Learning Objectives:

• Identify the unique strengths and challenges that kin and fictive caregivers experience as they navigate family relationships, caregiving responsibilities, and evolving roles. 

• Apply trauma-informed strategies from Together Facing the Challenge: Family Edition (TFTC-FE) to strengthen caregiver-child relationships, support co-parenting and family collaboration, and respond effectively to common caregiving challenges. 

• Develop a personalized action plan that incorporates practical tools and relationship-based strategies to create a more supportive, connected, and sustainable caregiving environment.

This live webinar has been approved for 1.25 Cultural Competence Continuing Education hours. Family Focused Treatment Association, #1659, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.
